Education, Outreach and Networking support 2025
The SFO provides funding for education, outreach and networking activities at 探花精选 (KI) based on scope, quality, and the potential to strengthen and develop the field.
Seminar series
StratRegen Seminar Series
The Seminar Series provides a platform for researchers in stem cells and regenerative medicine to connect, exchange ideas, and stay updated on the latest methodologies. The series connects internal seminars giving PhD students and PostDocs the chance to show their projects and discuss their achievements with leading external speakers to share innovative approaches in the field.
The seminars take place on Wednesdays 12:00-13:00 in Biomedicum, Solna.
Contact: Elif Eroglu, Enric Llorens, Evelien Eenjes
HERM seminar series
The seminar series of the Center for Hematology and Regenerative Medicine (HERM) has been an important meeting platform since 2012. The seminars are given by reputable and outstanding national and international experts in the field of hematopoiesis, cancer, immunology, and regenerative medicine.
The seminars take place on Mondays 12:00-13:00 in NEO, Flemingsberg.
Contact: Nicole Marquardt, Eva Hellstr枚m-Lindberg, Yenan Bryceson
Education and outreach
Of cells and science
The funding will secure continuation and development of the "Editor Schwartz research journey" school programme and a physical and digital educational platform for outreach and engagement in stem cell biology and regenerative medicine.
In 2024, the programme has been presented as a best practice at the international conference on 鈥淩ethinking creativity鈥.
The general outreach room/laboratory ("Allm盲nhetens m枚teslokal" or 鈥淏iominicum鈥) at Biomedicum will be further amanded during 2025. The room is available for educational/outreach activities for all departments at KI.

Courses, Conferences, Symposia
Developing Brain 2025 - Course/Symposium
The Developing Brains course and symposium has now been held 11 years in a row and is an important link between neuroscience, developmental biology, stem cell and regenerative medicine. It gathers leading scientists, local and international, working on critical questions and using state-of-the-art technologies to better understand how the nervous system develop and how to devise strategies for its repair in adult.

Cellular ecosystems in CNS injury and repair 2025 - Course/Symposium
This course and symposium will feature some of the leading speakers and their latest advances in the field including topics that span from scarring and regeneration across multiple model organisms, applications of single cell and spatial 鈥榦mics technologies to decipher cell-cell interactions and the implication of neuroimmune crosstalk in repair processes.
Date for the Symposium: 10th of September 2025
Contact: Christian G枚ritz, Enric Llorens
Blueprints of Life: Cell fate choices and lineages - Conference
This conference focuses on the state of the art and next frontier of core questions in stem cells and their development, with a broad view of new biological insights, analytical methods, technologies, tools, and models. The core theme of the conference is to discuss and showcase advances in understanding cell lineages and fates, with the ultimate goal of leveraging these insights in regenerative medicine.
Date for the Conference: 8th and 9th of May 2025
Contact: Emma Andersson
Medical Developmental Biology - Course
The main purpose of the course is to acquire a better understanding of issues, including ethical ones, in developmental and stem cell biology with direct implications for human development and disease. The course syllabus has been developed to provide a broad-based interdisciplinary training for graduate students, post-doctoral fellows, clinical fellows, and residents in the area of regenerative. The annual exchange course between 探花精选 and University of Toronto will take place for 27th time in 2025.
Date for the course: 18th to 22nd of August 2025
Contact: Fredrik Lanner, Kristiina Tammimies, Ola Hermanson
KI ReproNet - Network, Conference and Webinars
KI ReproNet鈥檚 mission is to address the growing reproductive challenges in society through a multidisciplinary approach. The planned eight annual webinars will focus on reparative, regenerative, and stem cell-based applications in reproductive sciences and will include speakers from KI and beyond. The symposium will be held in autumn.
