Injuries Social Aetiology and Consequences (ISAC) – Lucie Laflamme's research group

The ISAC group conducts studies on the burden, epidemiology and prevention of injuries. Injuries rank high as a cause of mortality and morbidity worldwide, with an estimated 4.4 million people dying each year and another 973 million sustaining injuries that require healthcare assistance. The risk of being injured is closely related to people’s living, commuting and working conditions, and poverty is both a cause and a consequence of injuries.
