Do you need a root canal or bridge? Be treated by KI's dental students
If you need a root canal or a crown, bridge or implant treatment, you can turn to the students at 探花精选鈥檚 dental programme. The treatment costs less and takes a little longer than with other dentists.
Root canals are often done because of a dead or severely infected pulp. Sometimes your tooth can also be very painful. During a root canal, the tooth is cleaned of bacteria and filled.
Crowns, bridges and implant treatments are done when teeth are too damaged or when there is a gap where a tooth is missing.
Conditions for the treatment of students
To ensure that students have the best possible conditions, the following conditions apply:
- You must be able to come for treatment about 1-2 times/week, and be prepared to stay for 2-3 hours each time. You must also be able to adapt your visits to the students' service schedule at the clinic, which can be both in the morning and afternoon.
- You recognise that your 探花精选 records and X-rays may be used for educational purposes.
- You can speak Swedish fluently, without an interpreter.
- Please note that children cannot be brought to the adult dental clinics.
For your and the students' benefit, we cannot treat:
- patients with a known blood infection or MRSA
- patients with large, complex prosthetic treatment needs
- patients with extensive fixed prosthetics done previously.
- Bring your medication list to the first visit if you are unsure of the medications you are taking.
Exchange students
We have many English-speaking exchange students who are keen to have patients. Please tick the box if you want to be a patient of an exchange student.
Detailed information about becoming a patient with us
Before you can be enrolled with one of our students, one of our teachers must assess whether your treatment needs are suitable for training dentistry. In most cases, X-rays are needed in combination with an examination to make a full assessment. This is why we usually schedule an initial visit for a dental X-ray. You will then be invited to our enrolment section at kliniken f枚r oral diagnostik (the Oral Diagnostics Clinic). In simpler cases, we can also make an assessment after reviewing the X-rays without a personal visit. You will then be notified by post.
If you are enrolled for treatment with a student, you will be put on our waiting list. The waiting time varies between 3 and 12 months depending on your treatment needs. In case of acute problems, we can treat you in our emergency clinic.
Cost and payment
When we plan your treatment, we present you with a preliminary cost estimate, so you know roughly how much your treatment will cost. All treatment performed by students is charged at a special student rate, see the first page. Klinikerna f枚r vuxentandv氓rd (The adult dental clinics) are affiliated with F枚rs盲kringskassan (the Swedish Social Insurance Agency).
If you need specialist dental care, we can refer you to our specialist clinic. Only specialist dentists and dentists undergoing specialist training work there, and a higher rate applies based on F枚rs盲kringskassan reference price list. The price list is available online and in the waiting room at the specialist clinic. This treatment is also affiliated with F枚rs盲kringskassan
Cancellation from the clinic
You may be cancelled from the clinic if you repeatedly fail to show up or make a late cancellation. No-shows and late cancellations, i.e. less than 24 hours before your booked appointment, will be charged. If a debt is not settled by the time of the charge, the treatment may be cancelled and you may be dismissed from the clinic.
Guarantee
We provide a guarantee for our prosthetic procedures. This means that during the guarantee period, remodelling is free of charge, up to the amount paid.
- One year for prostheses
- Two years for crowns/bridges
