I am an epidemiologist, with research interest in cancer epidemiology. My current research work is focused on understanding the risk, and prognosis of breast cancer by molecular subtype and mode of detection, with an overall aim to better understand the mechanisms that trigger aggressive cancers. This involves studying the inherited genetic background, phenotype of cancers including tumor characteristics, and factors that also contribute to the detectability of breast cancers such as mammographic features.

Another research interest of mine is diabetes and complications, focused on disease burden, outcome predictors of diabetes-related foot disease, and the assessment of cost-effectiveness of guideline-based care for patients to reduce the future burden. These projects are my PhD studies, and the research output was published in Diabetes Care, Diabetes Res Clin Pract, and Diabetic Medicine. Continuing after the PhD, I’ve been a visiting (affiliated) scholar and supervising PhD students as an external supervisor on related research projects.
