After completing my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the University of Tehran, I moved to Sweden to pursue graduate studies at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) and Uppsala University, where I obtained my PhD with a dissertation titled “Enhancing Cancer Treatment through Combination Therapy.” My research primarily focused on targeted radionuclide therapy (TRT) and its combination with various radiosensitizers, including heat shock protein inhibitors and immune checkpoint blockades. My extensive work with animal models inspired me to deepen my expertise in this area, leading me to my current position at Karolinska Institute, where I am dedicated to developing a new mouse model for cancer research, with a particular focus on TRT for thyroid cancer.

My research focuses on developing innovative strategies and methods to enhance the therapeutic efficacy of targeted radionuclide therapy (TRT) and immunotherapy for cancer treatment. A key component of this work is the establishment of robust in vivo models that closely replicate human cancer conditions, allowing for accurate assessment of treatment approaches. Currently, we are developing a specialized mouse model to evaluate the therapeutic effects of TRT and various immunotherapies, with the goal of advancing preclinical insights and improving outcomes for cancer patients.
