We are specifically interested in molecular mechanisms underlying the regulation of ribosome biogenesis, how the cell senses errors in the complex process of ribosome biogenesis and how these processes in turn can be used in the development of novel anti-cancer therapies. To investigate ribosome biogenesis and nucleolar structure, the team uses various microscopy technologies, ribosome profiling, rDNA assays, transcriptomics, translatomics, and proteomics. We also work a lot with small molecules and functional screens. Main lines and interests of research: 1. I have over 1000 teaching hours in cell biology, oncology, and biochemistry for students at the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ and bio̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ programs, including molecular oncology and biostatistics (BioMed), and Molecular Medicine course, cell biology. At the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ program biochemistry in the DFM1 and BV2 courses. I have been teaching also at the postgraduate course level, at the Cancer Cell cycles and Cancer Cell metabolism courses. I have co-organized a course on Brain Tumors. I currently also teach biochemistry at the KI "prep course" for foreign (non EU) ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ doctors that will take knowledge test for licence to practice medicine in Sweden.
