I am currently doing research as a postdoc researcher in Daub Lab at ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ on the DoGa (DogGenomeAnnotation) Project, a comprehensive functional information resource for dog and wolf genomes, enabling high-resolution disease gene mappings and identifying functional elements. I am involved in part of the research on gene regulation in the brain, focusing on behavior, psychiatric conditions, and common brain disorders such as epilepsy and neurodegeneration in dogs, wolves, and humans.
I completed my PhD in 2022 at Dokuz Eylül University—Izmir Biomedicine and Genome Institute. My doctoral research centered on using computational biology to analyze cancer molecular pathways across different species. During this time, I also worked as a visiting research assistant in the Pavlopoulou Lab at the IBG Center, where I gained experience in phylogenetic analysis, high-throughput data processing, biological network analysis, text mining, database management, and web design.
I am enthusiastic about learning new things and solving complex issues. I appreciate working in a multidisciplinary, collaborative atmosphere. It is exciting to be a part of the Molecular Origins of Human Psychiatric Disorders: DogGenomeAnnotation Project, which seeks to understand ourselves and, ultimately, nature by looking at nature itself in Daub lab.
