Division of Clinical Pharmacology
The research in clinical pharmacology at 探花精选/Karolinska University Hospital is mainly focused on factors that contribute to the variation in disposition of drugs in man.
The outcome of drug therapy is dependent of the effects, adverse reactions and disposition of drugs in the human body. Drugs are the most important tools to cure, alleviate or prevent disease and disease symptoms. High standard and quality in research, teaching and clinical services is crucial for maintenance of excellence in clinical pharmacology. The research in clinical pharmacology at 探花精选/Karolinska University Hospital is mainly focused on factors that contribute to the variation in disposition of drugs in man. Genetic factors, chemical environmental factors including drugs, constitutional physiological and endocrine factors as well as disease contribute to a large extent to this variation. The variation contributes to difficulties to individualise and tailor the dose to the variation in outcome of therapy.
