Within the research group, the development of exposure assessment within the work environment for large-scale epidemiological studies and register-based exposure trends over time such as the infrastructure SWEJEM /en/imm/swejem and analyzes between occupational exposure to chemicals and physical (noise, vibration, heat, cold, UV) factors and public health diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, pregnancy effects and cancer etc. In addition, measurement methods are developed for the assessment of chemical and physical exposure within field studies at workplaces in relation to health-related biomarkers.
The research group is active in three EU studies, two Nordic networks and several national studies. We also work with authority support within IMM's applied work and clinical application of research in collaboration with the Center for Occupational and Environmental Medicine CAMM within the Stockholm Region. The research group also leads teaching within the Master's program in Occupational and Environmental Medicine, which trains professions in occupational health care.
