About me

  • Post doc in the research group Equity and Health Policy and affiliated to the research group Global Disaster Medicine - Health Needs and Response, both at the Department of Global Public Health.

  • I am a reg. nurse with a Phd and master in Global Health from ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡. In 2023, I defended my doctoral thesis on moral conflict in health crises in the research group Global Disaster Medicine - Health Needs and Response. My master thesis focused on reintegration &

  • coping strategies among former girl soldiers in Northern Uganda.

     

  • I have worked with in Sierra Leone, South Sudan, DRC and Haiti, and with in Ukraine. In DRC I was involved in the response to the Ebola-outbreak. I have also worked with an Emergency Medical Team in Ukraine, at a project with mobile clinics for internally dispaced people, and in Addis Abeba at a COVID-field hospital. In Sweden, I have clinical experience from the Primary healthcare, inpatient care and coordination of gynecological day-surgery.

Research

  • I have just concluded my PhD on Ethical challenges and moral (di)stress among health care workers in disaster like settings, titled: Moral conflicts in health crises: Swedish health care workers’ experiences and management of moral stress. The aim of the thesis is to better understand what determinants are crucial to moral stress and moral distress and how that can affect health care workers in extreme situations such as disasters. The PhD was a collaboration with and the Department of Learning, Informatics, Management and Ethics (LIME) at KI. It was funded by the .
